About

Welcome to One Avian Daemon! I’m Naomi, a self-taught seamstress and independent designer. I love to talk about sewing, and this blog is a place for me to share the tricks I figure out so that you don’t have to put in as many bumpy zippers as I did before you learn to stop pulling on the fabric.

The name “one avian daemon” is an anagram of my full name. It doesn’t really mean anything. It was just my username on Etsy when I opened a store, and I’ve kept it ever since, without regard for anyone’s ability to remember or spell it.

You can reach me at oneaviandaemon at gmail.

I am infatuated with it now. Can I know how to get it? ;o)

    Thank you!

Right now there’s no way to get this exact dress, since I’m not currently selling my designs. But I’m sure you could find someone on Etsy to make you something similar!

    Hello!
I have to say I love your website! I found your picnic dress and it has inspired me to try and make some of my own clothing. I just finished (yesterday night!) my own version of your beautiful picnic dress. It was my first real attempt at making clothing by myself. I am so happy with it even though it is too tight in some… Well most spots, and the back is a little bit of a mess. :-)

Thank you so much for all your lovely ideas and patterns!

Congratulations! Everything I made was too tight somewhere (especially around the arms!) for a long time – keep at it and eventually the clothes you make will get to be better fitting and more comfortable than anything you can buy. As I’m sure you’ve learned, with woven fabrics it’s nice to have a bit of ease – to make your clothes about an inch larger than you are. Good luck with your next project!

    Dear,
I really love your blog and designs, especially your chalk line skirt
I’m dying to make one for my own, but I’m a novice.
I don’t completely get the drawing.
Is it possible to make another drawing or extra explantion for it?
Or make a pattern of it?

    Lots of love,

    Lien
