This weekend I made my Dream of Spring dress in blue for a customer. The most important part of making this dress look good is lining up the stripes along that center seam. You can cut both pieces at once by folding the fabric in half lengthwise, carefully keeping the stripes lined up, and cutting both pieces on the diagonal. But it’s hard to be sure that the stripes are lined up all the way up to the fold. So I prefer to cut out one side and use it as a template for the other, lining up the stripes along the edges.

Great dress! I tend to stay away from stripes because they are difficult to line up, but you did a beautiful job.
Wow, you did an awesome job in lining up those stripes! It takes patience to do that and you must have a lot!
Beautiful mitering.
This dress reminds me of the one Keira Knightley wore in Pride and Prejudice, when she’s in Mr. Darcy’s home for the first time. Absolutely gorgeous!! xoxo
